da aviator aposta: Down the years, West Ham vs. Liverpool has become an iconic Premier League fixture that usually results in a goal feast.
da 888casino: Ahead of today’s clash, we here at FootballFanCast decided to open the vault and re-watch some of the best goals the Irons have scored against the Reds.
This weekend, you could bet your house on the match not ending 0-0 with both defensive backlines less secure than a sandcastle beside the ocean.
The Hammers travel to Anfield hoping to emulate their surprising 0-3 victory on Merseyside last season – their first away victory against the Reds since 1962.
Over the past decade, the Hammers have had reasonable success against the Merseysiders, but this season the North West outfit have the bit between their teeth.
In the hope of claiming a first title since 1990, Liverpool look hungry for success and they will be keen to overturn their failings on the south coast against Bournemouth last weekend.
As the fixture approaches, these are the top FIVE goals West Ham have scored against Liverpool…
Paul Konchesky – 2006
Not known for his goalscoring ability, Paul Konchesky’s strike against Liverpool in the 2006 FA Cup final was one of the most astonishing goals witnessed in the final of competition.
In all honesty, he may admit now the shot was meant as a cross, but from 35 yards out, Konchesky managed to fire the ball over Pepe Reina to give the Hammers the lead in the final.
Steven Gerrard was to have an even bigger say, but the goal gave the Hammers belief they could topple their Merseyside rivals.
Mark Noble – 2015
In August of last season, West Ham were forced to travel to Arsenal and Liverpool in the opening month of the season. Amazingly, Slaven Bilic’s side beat both teams, scoring some special goals along the way.
Mark Noble’s strike against Liverpool gave the Hammers optimism of beating the Reds on home soil for the first time in 53 years, and it would prove invaluable as the Irons came away with all three points.
Noble’s precise strike concluded a brilliant counter-attacking move from the Hammers.
Diafra Sakho – 2015
Diafra Sakho has scored against the Premier League’s biggest teams during his time in England, but his goal against Liverpool in August 2015 was one of his finest.
With West Ham leading 0-2, the movement from the Senegal striker allowed him space in the box before he fired low and hard past Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal.
With his eyes looking in the opposite corner, Sakho fooled the Belgian shot-stopper to slam home and secure an iconic result.
Michail Antonio – 2016
Last season, the two clubs met no fewer than four times, with the Hammers unbeaten – winning three and drawing one.
In February 2016, an FA Cup fourth round replay took place at Upton Park with the Hammers coming out on top.
One of the deciding goals was Michail Antonio’s strike (1:41 above) to open proceedings as he expertly volleyed the Irons into a deserved lead. Bilic’s men went on to record a 2-1 victory over the Reds and book a place in the fifth round.
Andy Carroll – 2016
In April of this year, West Ham last played a league game against Liverpool, and it would be the last time the Reds would travelled to the famous Boleyn Ground.
Andy Carroll’s trademark header proved to be the winner between the two sides and ensured the Hammers finished above the Reds come the end of the season.
