da 888: It’s really hard to pick any flaws in Kalvin Phillips’ game.
da dobrowin: The midfielder has been hailed as the best player in the Championship, and his performance on Saturday proved just how important he is to the team.
The Elland Road faithful were drooling over the Yorkshire Pirlo after his showing against Bristol City, and you’d be hard-pressed to find an area in which he needs to improve.
However, there is one attribute he could do with rediscovering.

Leeds’ main struggles this season has been finding the net, the Whites are severely underperforming their xG, and only two players in the squad have scored five or more goals.
United may sit second in the table, but they’ve scored the same number of goals as 9th placed Cardiff City, and they have actually scored fewer than 16th placed QPR.
The Yorkshire club could do with finding more goals in their squad, and Phillips is at least partially to blame for Leeds’ woes in front of goal.
It sounds preposterous to accuse a defensive midfielder of not finding the net enough, but we’ve seen before that Phillips knows where the goal is.
In the 2017/18 season, the 24-year-old bagged seven league strikes in 41 appearances, but he’s only scored two in 73 since Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival.
The midfielder’s lack of goals is by no means the biggest problem at the club, but if he did chip in with a few more he would certainly help alleviate some of the issues the club have been having up front.
Of course, Phillips’ main role is to defend, making 2.9 tackles per game, but that side of his game doesn’t have to be sacrificed for more goals.
The midfielder made 2.6 tackles per match during the 2017/18 campaign where he notched seven league goals, and he also made 1.3 interceptions per game, the same tally he boasts this term.
Hopefully, the Leeds talisman can get his name on the scoresheet a bit more often from now until the end of the season.
In other news, Leeds may forever live to regret not completing this signing in 2018.
