da bet sport: As reported by The Daily Star, Leicester City face a fight to hold on to their star goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with two Premier League big boys ready to sign him this summer.
What’s the story?
da imperador bet: The Danish international is a vital component of Claudio Ranieri’s side but the Foxes could be facing life without the shot-stopper with both Arsenal and Liverpool said to be interested in his services.
The Star reports that both clubs are willing to shell out around £30m for the title winning goalkeeper in an effort to solver the ‘keeping crises at Anfield and the Emirates.
That’s a lot of money and as we know money talks. That’s especially true if the Foxes can’t reverse their trend of poor results and end up getting relegated in May.
Worth a big move?
At 30 years of age, Schmeichel is coming into his prime years as a goalkeeper, with the presence and experience required to excel in the Premier League on a week-to-week basis.
With four clean sheets in this year’s UEFA Champions League, he’s also shown he has the ability to step up and play in Europe’s biggest club competition, something that must be massive a bonus for the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
With question marks surrounding Petr Cech, Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet at the two clubs reported to be interested, a move for Schmeichel certainly makes a lot of sense.
Can they convince Leicester City to part with their great wall though?
