da bet nacional: Michael Dunford has resigned as chief executive of Birmingham City with immediate effect.
da bet sport: Dunford joined the Blues in October following the takeover of the St Andrew's club by Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung.
However, he has now stepped down following discussions with the board at the Premier League club.
"Birmingham City can confirm that, after formal discussions with Michael Dunford, the chief executive officer, we have accepted his resignation," read a club statement.
"We wish him well for the future and thank him for the time spent at the football club."
The Blues have given no reason why Dunford has stepped down.
The news comes hard on the heels of reports claiming that the current board were in danger of losing control of the club to an investment bank.
Last week, Seymour Pierce revealed it would take control of the club unless the ccurrent owners came up with a £2.2million payment it claimed to be owed before the end of May.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
