da 888casino: New Stoke boss Mark Hughes is set to hand Wilson Palacios a Britannia Stadium lifeline.
da apostebet: The Honduran ace endured a torrid 2012/13 under former chief Tony Pulis, failing to make a single Premier League start.
This has led to speculation that he could be on the move, with the Potters thought to be keen to remove his substantial weekly earnings from their wage bill.
But, chairman Peter Coates says that Hughes will be handing all of Stoke’s players a fresh start, including Palacios.
“Mark wants to have a good close look at everybody when they do return to the club because he wants to make his own assessment of what is in front of him,” he told The Sentinel.
“He will be back for pre-season training along with everybody else as things stand at the moment.”
Palacios cost Stoke £6million two years ago, but has failed to live up to expectations.
Meanwhile, Coates confirmed that the club are monitoring PSV Eindhoven’s Erik Pieters, as they go about addressing their left-back issues.
“We are certainly looking for a left-back because we’ve only got Marc Wilson at the moment, and he was brought in as a midfield player,” he added.
“We haven’t made any decision [on Pieters] because we are looking at options, but he’s certainly a possibility.”
Stoke’s hierarchy are believed to be willing to back ‘Sparky’ significantly in the transfer market in the coming months, after being dragged dangerously close to relegation under Pulis last season.
